The first LP, as released in Canada on the Hannibal label in
1982. I prefer the BBC radioplay, but completists will definitely need this
unique performance of the material. Includes two tiny bonus cuts – one revealing
the name of the author of the worst poetry of all time (the name was censored
on the record by reversing each word; I’ve un-reversed it), the other revealing
who bruised his upper arm in the Heart of Gold attack (cut into the inner
groove of side 3). The more expanded BBC version is still available for
purchase, but this version has never been reissued.
DISCLAIMER: To the best of my
knowledge, this work is out of print and not available for purchase in any
format. If you are the artist and are planning a reissue, please let me know
and I’ll remove it from the blog. Also please get in touch if you’ve lost your
art &/or sound masters and would like to talk with me about my restoration work.
