In 1949 Columbia Masterworks released the label’s third
album of songs by Serge Jaroff’s Don Cossacks, for the first time all on a
single long-playing disc: A Don Cossack Concert (ML 2070). 1949 was the first year Andy Warhol started designing covers for Columbia Masterworks, but the jury’s still out on whether this is one of
his.
